What are the types of play?
There are two main types of algorithms for play. The first is positional, the second is tactical. Positional play is when you use intuition to play the move that feels correct or safe. Tactical play is when you use precise analysis and calculation to predict the opponent's moves and forstall them. Positional play is usually the way people play. Machines are trained to play tactically. The machines are trained on millions of master games (games played by masters). They learn on mostly positional play to up their skills of tactical play (the machines, I mean). However, training machines on master games is not enough. Neural networks are powerful, but they are useless without other features that prevent blunders, lost oppurtinies, and illegal moves.
